About

Shakespeare Happy Hours is a series of online live-stream experiences produced by Rude Grooms and 7SSC. The project kicked off on April 1, 2020 and the plays took place at 5pm EST every Monday, Wednesday and Friday on YouTube or at shakespearehappyhours.tv. Each 90-minute rendition of William Shakespeare’s plays was performed in real time by actors across the US and UK, allowing the actors to collaborate remotely.

The rotating ensemble of 40 actors included Josh Innerst (Hamlet with American Shakespeare Center), Jerome Harmann Hardeman (Dirty Dancing national tour), Natasha Magigi (2019 tour with Shakespeare’s Globe), Dickon Tyrrell (Measure for Measure with Shakespeare’s Globe), Chinaza Uche (Dickinson on Apple TV+), Christie Vela (King Lear with Dallas Theater Center and Trinity Repertory Company), and Harry Waller (Much Ado About Nothing with the Royal Shakespeare Company) alongside Kara Arena, Daniel Kemper, Laura Piccoli, Deb Radloff, and Montgomery Sutton from Rude Grooms and Dan Beaulieu, Alex Hernandez, Dylan Kammerer,  Deb Kinghorn, Danielle Nigro, and Christine Penney from Seven Stages Shakespeare Company.
